Admission

Admission to all classes,viz. class I to class X is open from the first week of April every year. For Pre-Primary classes, registration for admission will be started from the first week of January and admission will be granted from the first week of April onwards.

Application form and prospectus for admission can be obtained from the office on payment of `250

The school admits students on the basis of merit. A selection test will be conducted to decide eligibility for admission, except for Nursery Classes. The decision of H.M./ Principal shall be final in this matter. ** Children above 3½ years of age shall be admitted to Pre-Primary classes. For admission to class I the child should complete 5½ years of age.

The following documents shall be produced at the time of admission.

  1. Birth certificate (for Nursery and Class I)
  2. Transfer certificate (for other classes)
  3. Community certificate (for SC/ST)
  4. Two passport size colour photos.

Admissions are made on the clear understanding that children admitted to the school shall fully abide by the rules and regulations of the school in force. These rules and regulations are subject to change at any time. It is mandatory that parent I guardian should accompany the student at the time of admission.

** Age limit for admission is subject to change as envisaged in Right to EducationAct.

Note: Parents may meet the Principal I Headmistress at any time other than the scheduled time on prior appointment. Parents are not allowed to meet the teachers directly, unless authorised by the Principal / Headmistress.

SHOES FOR ALL STUDENTS

  1. Black shoes and white socks on all working days except Wednesday.
  2. White shoes and white socks on Wednesday.

School uniform is part of school discipline. It is mandatory for students to strictly adhere to prescribed pattern of uniform.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS ON SCHOOL UNIFORM

  1. Students should always be well groomed and in full school uniform on all working days and whenever required in the school premises.
  2. Students are not permitted to
    • Wear fancy/sporty/expensive watches!
    • Wear colorful shoes .
    • Wear bracelets, wrist bands or chains.
  3. Boys should regularly have a closed trimmed hair cut.
  4. Girls with short hairs should wear white slides/hair bands. Girls with long hair should braid the same in two neat plaits tied with white ribbons.
  5. Shoes must be regularly cleaned and polished.
  6. Nails must be trimmed regularly. Girls are not permitted to apply nail polish and come to school.

FEE RULES

  • The School fee sholud be paid either in lump sum or in three instalments in the academic year
  • All fees Should be paid on or before the due date.
  • A fine of Rs. 30/- will be levied for delayed payments and non payment of fee within one month from the due date will disqualify the student from attending classes.
  • Fees once remitted will not be refunded.

SCHOOL TRANSPORT

  • Transport facility is arranged by the School at Pathiyarakkara Main Campus
  • Availing of School Transport facility is non obligatory.
  • Students can utilise School Transport on payment of transport charges fixed by the School.
  • Monthly Transport Charge has to be paid on or before 5th of every month, the first payment being 5th June 2015. Transport charge for the month of MarCh-2O16 shall be paid on or before 5th February 2016 along with the transport charge for the month of February 2016.
  • Non payment of Transport fee on or before the last date will lead to cancellation of the facility extended to the student.
  • Students are to board / alight at a common stop fixed by school and not from his/her door step.
  • For making the routine journey pleasant and smooth, students are expected to observe strict discipline and mannerism while in the school conveyance
  • Prior written request by parent shall be furnished for any change in the transport arrangements provided to the student.

Ensure, the details of remittance against Term fee / Transport charges are properly entered in page No. 33 of School Diary.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL RULES

  • Every student must come to school in neat and complete school uniform on all working days.
  • English is the only medium of communication allowed in the school campus.
  • Students are expected to take part in the co-curricular activities as part of the school curriculum.
  • Every student shall take care of his/her books and other belongings. The school is not responsible for their loss.
  • Wearing Gold Ornaments and other valuables is not allowed in the school.
  • Students are strictly prohibited from using Mobile Phones in the school premises.
  • Students are not allowed to interact with outsiders in the school campus.
  • No student should damage/disfigure/destroy any furniture or fixtures or deface the school property in anyway.
  • All students must reach school in time. Late comers will be liable for punishments.
  • Students are not permitted to leave the school premises during school hours without the written permission of the principal.
  • Students are not allowed to roam about the school campus during class hours.
  • Misbehaviour contrary to the code of conduct will be seriously dealt with and any disciplinary action taken by the Principal will be final.
  • Use the leave record page of the school diary for the intimation of absence and reason thereof along with the signature of parent/guardian while availing leave.
  • Long leave without valid and sufficient reasons will not be allowed.

GUIDELINES TO PARENTS

  • We are proud that you have vested such confidence in us to hand over your precious child to our care.
  • The school diary is the mode of communication between the parents and the school. Kindly check your ward’s diary regularly and sign it.
  • Please acknowledge receipt of all circulars in the school diary.
  • Parents should sign only in blue or black ink in all reports, circulars, assignments /note books and in the school diary whenever required to do so.
  • Please inform the school whenever there is a change in your address and/mobile phone number, in writing.
  • Please do not let your ward carry any money to school except along with a letter from you stating the specific purpose.
  • Please use ONLY the space provided in the school diary for communicating the reason for your ward’s absence.
  • Your ward will not be permitted to leave the school premises before school disperses, unless permission is granted by the principal on a written request from you or in an emergency. In both cases you will have to come personally and pick up your ward.
  • Your co-operation is essential to ensure effective discipline. Please ensure that your ward attends school regularly, completes all assignments, devotes adequate time to reading and revising daily lessons and participates in all the school activities.
  • Parents are not allowed to meet the teachers during class hours. They are advised not to enter the class room to meet their wards also.
  • If you criticize your ward’s teachers or the school in his/her presence he/ she will lose respect for the teachers and consequently cease to learn from them. If you have any genuine grievance please meet the principal or communicate with him in writing with your signature, name and address. Anonymous letters will not be attended to.
  • To encourage your ward to eat independently we have arranged for him /her to have his/her meals in the classroom. Parents, drivers or maids are not allowed to enter the premises to handover lunch boxes or feed the students during meal time. Please ensure that your ward brings his/her lunch kit with a neat lunch mat and napkin in the morning itself. Non veg. food is not allowed in the school premises.
  • Birthdays: Students are allowed to wear colored clothes to school on their birthdays.
  • THE YOUNG CUSTODIAN Students should look after their own belongings and not bring valuables to school. The school is not responsible for the loss of books, money, tiffin boxes etc., lost in the premises. However, the student may get a letter from his /her parents giving a complete description of the lost item to his/her class teacher.They will try to locate the same.

    Students’s name, class and section should be clearly marked on a neat tag fixed to his/her bag, lunch basket, pencil box, umbrella, water bottle etc. Every student is a custodian of all facilities available for use in school, no student should damage/ disfigure I destroy any furniture or fixture or deface the school property in any way.

    Loss of, or any damage to school property due to carelessness/ negligence/wilful mischief of a student will have to be made good by his / her parents.

    Behavior contrary to the code of conduct will make him I her liable to disciplinary action. Any student who is repeatedly or wilfully violating rules or indulging in mischief or is guilty of malpractices or is found to have committed or is party to an act of serious indiscipline, who in the opinion of the head of the institution, is a negative influence to other students, may be suspended or even expelled from the rolls of the school.

  • Medical : The school provides first aid as and when required, however, the school is not liable or responsible for any accident that may occur to any pupil during school hours.
  • All text books, note books, tie, belt and badges are supplied by school on payment.
  • TRANSFER CERTIFICATE: Transfer certificate of wards will be issued after 15 days of receipt of specific written request duly signed by the parent. Make sure that all Fee Dues are cleared and Library Books surrendered. Fee for Transfer Certificate is Rs.1 00/-
  • ATTENDANCE AND REGULARITY: Every day at the school is an experience and value. Hence it is of utmost importance that every student attends every day of school. All the students must be present on the school re-opening day of the academic session and after Onam and Christmas vacations. Names of the students absent on the opening day, without valid reason will be struck off the rolls and parents will have to seek readmission. Hence parents are advised against extending the vacation period. In case a student has been suffering from any communicable disease, parents may please ensure that he/she comes to school only after a qualified doctor certifies him/her fit and safe for interaction with other students. In the event of repeated absence without permission or unexplained absence for five consecutive days or more without intimation and for reasons other than illness, a student may be struck off the rolls with no re-admission option. Students are expected to maintain a record of 90% attendance per term.
